Sunesis Partners, Inc. represents the next chapter for Robin and Rick Leonard — a continuation of the partnership, experience,
and values that guided more than three decades of building R. Leonard CSR, Inc. Its name, drawn from the Greek word for understanding or insight, reflects their shared commitment to curiosity, thoughtful engagement, and living with purpose.
Our History
Robin and Rick Leonard founded R. Leonard CSR, Inc. in 1993 as a reporter-owned court reporting agency serving the Los Angeles market. Robin, a licensed court reporter since 1976, brought firsthand understanding to the agency’s work. Rick brought his MBA, executive experience, and entrepreneurial outlook to its business operations. For more than three decades, the agency’s reporter-owned perspective shaped how it served its attorney clients and worked with the court reporters, videographers, and interpreters
who supported their proceedings.
On September 11, 2026, the court reporting business Robin and Rick built joined forces with Regal Court Reporters, based in Santa Ana and serving clients throughout California. Regal is now responsible for all operational aspects of proceedings taking place on or after that date, including scheduling, coverage, and billing. Robin and Rick remain actively involved during the transition, serving clients and supporting the court reporters, videographers, and interpreters who work
with them.
The corporation they founded continues under the name Sunesis Partners, Inc.
Looking Ahead
Looking ahead, Sunesis Partners provides a home for Robin and Rick’s next chapter. First and foremost, that means spending time with their family—especially their grandchildren.
It also means supporting causes that matter deeply to them, staying active outdoors, traveling and learning about other cultures,
and pursuing the creative interests that inspire them.
